Soprano and Tenor for 2027/28 season of the International Opera Studio

The Komische Oper Berlin is one of Berlin's three major opera houses and is considered internationally as a pioneer in innovative musical theater.

We offer a training program for young singers as part of the International Opera Studio. This call for applications is aimed at young professionals, graduates and artists who are nearing the end of their training. The International Operastudio is a 2-year full-time contract. Remuneration is based on the German collective agreement for stage performers (Normalvertrag Bühne).

You will be required to submit the following:

• CV/résumé, including a headshot (PDF file, maximum size 1 MB)
• A short introduction video (maximum 1 minute; YouTube link only) in German or English introducing yourself and telling us why you would like to join the opera studio at the Komische Oper Berlin
• Two contrasting arias as video recordings (YouTube links only). Both recordings must be unedited and no older than one year.

Applications that are not submitted via the online form cannot be considered.

Audition

Live auditions will take place from 31 November to 2 December 2026 at the Komische Oper Berlin @Schillertheater and only by prior written invitation.

Exact audition times and the required audition material will be communicated with the invitation. Unfortunately, the Komische Oper Berlin cannot cover travel or accommodation expenses.
