Staff member for the residential care area (group of young children) on rotating shifts (early/late shifts) full-time

As a children's aid organization based in Oberhausen/Dinslaken, we have been bringing sick and injured children from war zones and crisis areas to Germany for medical treatment since 1967. Here, they receive care in hospitals across Germany or at the medical center in the Peace Village. After their rehabilitation at our residential facility in Oberhausen, the children return to their families. This concept is unique worldwide.

The patients, aged 2 to 12, are housed in different residential groups at our facility. At times, children from various nations in Africa and (Central) Asia live together there, seeking to recover their health. Thus, different cultures, languages, and religions come together daily in the "village." Visitors to the Peace Village are often amazed to see how easily the children communicate with each other, play together, help one another, and form friendships despite their differences. Although the young patients have often suffered serious illnesses or injuries and are thousands of kilometers away from their families and homes, their zest for life remains unbroken.

For our residential care sector – young children (up to 5 years old) – we are immediately seeking dedicated staff for rotating shifts (early/late shifts) who would like to support our humanitarian aid for the children of this world.

Tasks

• Accompanying the children in their “everyday village life”
• Minor nursing tasks under supervision and documentation
• Our educational work is guided by our peace education and multicultural approach.
• Participation in team meetings, shift handovers and training sessions
• The weekly working hours (40 hours) are divided into early and late shifts (including weekend shifts and on-call duty).

Qualification

• Completed training in the nursing or educational field, for example: educator , social worker/social pedagogue
