The Paul Gerhardt Werk, founded in 1991 as a non-profit GmbH under the name "Evangelische Jugendhilfe Niederlausitz", is a diaconal organization dedicated to supporting people in difficult life situations. With a wide range of social services in the regions of Berlin and Brandenburg, the Werk particularly advocates for children, adolescents, young adults, and their families who live in personal emergencies or socially challenging conditions.

The Paul Gerhardt Werk offers a variety of care and support services, including supervised living arrangements, outpatient and inpatient youth assistance, as well as special participation programs for people with disabilities. The facilities include the youth center Chip, the children's home Köpenick, and the mother-child house in Cottbus. In addition, the Werk is committed to volunteer work and offers opportunities for a Voluntary Social Year or the Federal Volunteer Service.
