The DRK-Kreisverband Weserbergland e.V. is one of the largest DRK associations in Lower Saxony with around 10,000 members and approximately 2,700 full-time and volunteer employees, and is a significant employer in the districts of Hameln-Pyrmont and Holzminden.

The association is guided by the seven principles of the Red Cross: Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and Universality.
The DRK-Kreisverband Weserbergland e.V. attaches great importance to the commitment of its volunteer helpers and offers a variety of opportunities to participate in the various areas. The DRK units are a central component of civil protection and make an indispensable contribution to security in the region.
