Deutsches Rotes Kreuz Kreisverband Heilbronn e.V.

The DRK-Kreisverband Heilbronn e.V. is a central welfare organization that, as part of the national and international Red Cross and Red Crescent movement, provides comprehensive social services for the population of the urban and rural district of Heilbronn. With approximately 550 full-time employees, 35 local associations, and over 2,000 volunteers, the association supports around 480,000 people in the region. Core services include disaster control, civil ambulance service, emergency call services, assisted living, meals on wheels, and various social work and youth programs such as the Youth Red Cross and school first aid services.

The mission of the DRK-Kreisverband Heilbronn is based on the internationally recognized principles of the Red Cross, such as humanity, impartiality, and voluntary aid. The goal is to help people in emergency situations quickly and competently, to promote social participation for all, and to be present as a reliable partner in health and disaster situations as well as in the social environment. Strong volunteer engagement and close cooperation with authorities contribute to the implementation of these values.

Sustainability and social responsibility are made visible through numerous initiatives and investments. These include the expansion of modern rescue stations and the continuous improvement of the emergency call infrastructure to optimize service quality and environmental aspects. The association ensures a stable supply for the population and at the same time promotes a healthy, supportive working environment for its employees. This is reflected, among other things, in the support of work-life balance, childcare, fitness offers, and environmental awareness. In addition, the association ensures the protection of employees in emergency situations through a worldwide repatriation service.
