The Saxon State Working Group on Confronting National Socialism (sLAG) promotes the remembrance of NS crimes through educational offerings, research, and networking. It advocates for democracy education and diversity and offers inclusive formats for all target groups.
The Saxon State Working Group on Confrontation with National Socialism (sLAG) is a historical-political network composed of associations, organizations, initiatives, historical workshops, projects, and individuals. Founded on September 18, 2018, sLAG works with different approaches and thematic focuses on local, regional, and national NS history.
sLAG operates politically neutral and independent of parties. Its main mission is to remember the NS crimes and to oppose populist, anti-Semitic, and racist positions. Respect for all those persecuted and murdered by the NS regime, as well as the appreciation of diversity and complexity in remembrance and communication work, are central values of the organization. The commitment of sLAG contributes to strengthening the democratic culture in Saxony[2][4].
sLAG continuously works to promote public awareness of the research and communication work done and advocates for an intensive engagement with the ideology and rule of the NS system. Through its low-threshold offers and open structure, sLAG is an important actor in political-historical education work in Saxony.
