The Karl-Müchler-Schule in Dortmund-Hörde is a state-recognized private supplementary school that has been offering an individual and successful alternative to the state school system for over 40 years. The school is characterized by a holistic educational philosophy that is tailored to the needs of each individual student and enables targeted support in small classes from the 5th grade to the upper school level. The broad range of subjects and educational opportunities, as well as intensive preparation for central exams and qualifications such as the Abitur and the Fachoberschulreife, are at the heart of the pedagogical concept.
A special feature of the Karl-Müchler-Schule is the individual support and encouragement provided by a dedicated and competent team of teachers. The school attaches great importance to a familiar learning atmosphere in which students are specifically and comprehensively supported. The principle of differentiation avoids over- and under-challenging students, which leads to high performance motivation and optimal learning progress. The school also offers regular interim performance reports, internal preliminary exams and exam simulations to ensure transparency and learning success for students and parents.
The Karl-Müchler-Schule is not denominationally, politically or ideologically aligned and does not commit itself to any specific pedagogical direction. Instead, it promotes the free development of personality and the commandment to respect and protect human dignity. The school supports students with special needs such as reading and spelling difficulties, dyscalculia, AD(H)S and autism through professional support and long-term cooperation with child and adolescent psychologists.
In addition to the academic program, the school attaches great importance to strengthening social skills, learning behavior and media and methodological skills. Additional courses during the school vacations, remedial lessons, all-day care and numerous working groups complement the educational offer. The school actively participates in projects such as "Hörde erfahren", in which students experience the structural change in the Ruhr area in a vivid way and integrate it into their lessons.
The Karl-Müchler-Schule strives to educate students to become judicious, socially responsible, independent and self-responsible citizens. The school promotes social interaction and strengthens students' life skills. Regular monitoring of learning progress and close cooperation with parents and external specialists ensure that each student receives optimal support.
The school is proud to have successfully guided more than 2000 students to their qualifications since its foundation in 1983. The Karl-Müchler-Schule is a place where individual support, a familiar atmosphere and a broad educational offer go hand in hand to prepare students in the best possible way for their future.
