Kinderzentren Kunterbunt (KiKu) is a leading, non-profit provider of over 100 day care centers (Kitas) nationwide in Germany. As a subsidiary of Ernst Klett Verlag with more than 25 years of experience, KiKu and Villa Luna are currently merging to form kitea, an innovative educational network. The new platforms kitea-kids.de and euchzuliebe.de offer central information on facilities, places and career opportunities.[1][2]
KiKu operates Kinderkrippen und Kindergärten (U3 und Ü3) with contemporary pedagogy, dedicated teams and modernly equipped houses. The facilities serve as a second home, where children explore the world through research and develop their personality.[1][4]
Each facility develops its pedagogical practice individually, based on scientific findings.[4][6]
The main mission of KiKu is: to give children a good start in life and to make it easier for parents to reconcile family and work. The pedagogical concept rests on four pillars: Ko-Konstruktion, Partizipation, Inklusion and Bildungspartnerschaft.[4]
Core values:
Pedagogy is neutral, free from political or religious influences, and integrates diverse traditions.[2][4]
Sustainability is a central concern. KiKu minimizes environmental impacts in procurement and supply chains, demands this from partners and protects society.[2]
With the merger to kitea, an even stronger network for high-quality childcare is created. KiKu remains a pioneer in pedagogy and inclusion, committed to happy children, satisfied families and motivated teams.[1]
