Kinderkreis 52 e.V. is a Waldorf-oriented kindergarten and daycare in Hamburg-Groß Flottbek that has existed since 1970. As a dedicated parent initiative, it offers familiar, attentive care for 20-22 children aged 3-6 years in a group with three educators, as well as a small daycare group for up to 8 children since 2014.[1][2][9]
The facility is characterized by a fixed daily and annual routine that provides rituals, security, and support. The day is structured daily by a morning circle with songs, stories, and games, accompanied free play, shared breakfast, , and a . Weekly, there is , intensive (according to Erdmute Partecke) and age-differentiated activities such as painting, crafting, sewing, or (e.g., Zahlenland, Schreibtanz, theater performances).[1][4][7]
Waldorf-oriented elements characterize the work: focus on creative, independent play, social skills, fine motor skills, and concentration with few toys. Natural crafting, decelerated space for personal development, and positive interactions promote holistic development.[4]
The main mission is pedagogically qualified support that supports children in their individuality and creates a familiar atmosphere. Values such as familiarity, community, and engagement are at the center: "The whole family is a little bit in the kindergarten" - this creates closeness and well-being.[1][3][4]
As a parent association (member of the paritätische Wohlfahrtsverband), parents elect the board annually and actively shape life.[3][8] Joint garden days in spring and autumn with grilling and work enrich everyday life - children and parents celebrate together. Bi-weekly parent evenings offer insights into projects, everyday life, and the group. Educators such as Anja K. (since 2020, daycare and elementary area), Gertrud (since 2023, youngest) and Silke H. (organization) ensure continuity.[1][3][10]
The versatile garden with old trees invites you to climb, romp, dig and splash - in all weather. Garden days promote sustainable engagement: parents and children maintain the green space together, which strengthens a love of nature and environmental awareness. Waldorf pedagogy emphasizes natural materials and rituals that practice respect for nature.[1][3]
Kinderkreis 52 e.V. creates a place where children grow playfully, families are connected, and values such as mindfulness and creativity flourish. An oasis of childhood in a quiet location.[1][4]
