The Kinderladen Räuberhöhle e.V. is a parent-run daycare center in the heart of Cologne, which has been run by dedicated parents and a professional team since January 1995. As a single-group daycare center, it cares for 22 children aged two to six in a family atmosphere that promotes independence and individual development.[1][5][6]
The Mission of the Kinderladen aims at the holistic development of the personality: children learn to strengthen social skills, to experience the environment, nature and culture in a playful way and to discover joy in movement through gymnastics, dancing, movement games and songs. Creative forms of expression in the musical, creative and linguistic fields are in the foreground, complemented by free spaces for sensory experiences, a spirit of research and self-discovery learning.[1][6][7] The facility sees itself as a in which children grow age-appropriately and at their own pace - stimulated by educators, peers, rooms and materials.[7]
Values such as close team-parent cooperation, commitment and diversity characterize everyday life. The director Silke Eppinger, who has been in the house since 1995, emphasizes music, movement and nature education; further training in language support, inclusion and quality management ensure high pedagogical standards. The team of qualified educators, pedagogues, kitchen and cleaning staff cook fresh daily and integrate interns.[1][6]
Sustainability is reflected in the responsible handling of nature through forest pedagogy and sensory experiences that convey environmental protection and healthy nutrition. Goals include exercise, mental health and mental fitness.[1][10] The Freundes- und Förderverein financially supports educational projects, e.g. excursions or festivals, as public grants are scarce. Donations and purchases via partner platforms such as Gooding.de ensure innovative offers.[3]
The Kinderladen Räuberhöhle e.V. embodies parental initiative and professional care - a place where children curiously research, make friends and discover the world. With a focus on nature, creativity and community, it prepares children for a strong start in life.[1][3][6][7]
