Landesverband Erneuerbare Energien NRW e.V.

The Landesverband Erneuerbare Energien NRW (LEE NRW) is a central interest group for the promotion and expansion of renewable energies in North Rhine-Westphalia. Founded in 2009, the LEE NRW represents the interests of the renewable energy sector to politics, media, and society.

The main mission of the LEE NRW is to establish an environmentally friendly, safe, cost-effective, and decentralized energy supply that is based 100% on renewable energies by 2045 at the latest. This is to be achieved through the expansion of photovoltaics, wind energy, bioenergy, hydropower, and geothermal energy. The association advocates for regional value creation, the creation of local jobs, and independence from fossil fuel imports[1][3][5].

• Political Communication and Advocacy: The LEE NRW is in regular dialogue with the NRW state government, the factions in the state parliament, the district governments, and the municipalities to represent the interests of the renewable energy sector.
• Public Relations and Networking: The association informs through press work, events, and exchanges with professionals, politics, science, and society about the opportunities and challenges of the energy transition.
• Regional Support: Five regional associations in NRW directly support the energy transition on-site and pool the efforts of regional stakeholders[1][3][5].
• Events and Activities: The LEE NRW regularly organizes events such as the "Windenergietage NRW" to make the energy transition tangible and promote exchange among professionals.
• Scientific Exchange: Together with universities and research institutions, the association develops a data basis for the future of the energy transition[1][3].

• Climate Protection: The LEE NRW aligns itself with the Paris climate protection goals and advocates for the complete transition of energy supply in NRW to renewable energies to reduce CO2 emissions and promote climate protection.
