The Ivo-Frueth-Schule in Oberndorf am Neckar is a special education and counseling center (SBBZ) with a focus on learning. It offers a comprehensive range of services for students with different learning styles from the northeastern part of the Rottweil district.

The school teaches classes 1 to 9 in small class sizes of 10 to 17 students. The catchment area includes Oberndorf, Sulz am Neckar, Dornhan, Epfendorf and Vöhringen.

Core Services and Offers:

• Instruction and Support: The school offers instruction in grades 1-9, tailored to the individual needs of students with learning difficulties. Special education support in small groups is an important part of the offer.
• Special Education Counseling Center: The school offers school entry diagnostics, early intervention in kindergartens, and counseling for parents and educators. It cooperates with primary and secondary schools to support students with learning problems.
• Care: As a school in a rural area, the Ivo-Frueth-Schule, with the support of its support association, offers an all-day program that includes a student lunch table, supervised lunch breaks, leisure activity groups, an afternoon family (socio-educational intensive help) and a care program.
• Inclusion: Teachers at the Ivo-Frueth-Schule are involved in cooperation in the area of inclusion at primary schools.
• Collaboration: The school maintains close cooperation with the Berufsschule Oberndorf, where a technical teacher teaches with a teaching assignment at the school. There is also a cooperation with the vocational school in Schramberg/Sulgen, where 9th grade students receive practical instruction in home economics and textile crafts once a week.

Mission and Values:

The Ivo-Frueth-Schule sees itself as a place where students with different learning requirements are individually supported and supported on their way to further schooling or vocational training. The school values close cooperation with parents, educators and other institutions in order to guarantee the best possible learning success for its students. An important aspect is strengthening cohesion in Oberndorf, which is promoted through fundraising campaigns and the involvement of students in local events.

Sustainability:

The middle school students offer homemade products at the weekly market in Oberndorf every year. The proceeds go towards the school country home.
