The Nationale Anti-Doping Agentur Deutschland (NADA) is the central, independent authority for clean sport in Germany. As a non-profit foundation under civil law, founded on July 15, 2002 in Bonn and fully operational since January 1, 2003, it is committed to fairness, equal opportunities and doping-free performance.[1][3][5]
The vision of NADA is: "For clean performance". Under the slogan "Alles geben, nichts nehmen", it consistently fights against doping in order to maintain values such as honesty, transparency and integrity in sport. It supports honest athletes nationally and internationally, promotes clean success and strengthens Germany as a sporting location. NADA combines forces from the state, sport and business in the stakeholder model and acts as a competence center for anti-doping work.[1][3][4][5]
Its statutory objectives include the implementation of the World Anti-Doping Code (WADC) in the National Anti-Doping Code (NADC), the creation of a uniform doping control system and preventive measures. These are supplemented by medical and legal advice, international cooperation and the establishment of an independent sports arbitration court since 2008.[1][4][6]
NADA's anti-doping work rests on two pillars: effective control system and preventive offers. The Doping Control System (DKS) department plans, coordinates and commissions doping controls with specialized partners and accredited laboratories.[2][4][6]
Important tools for athletes, coaches, doctors and associations:
NADA also offers legal advice, Medical Use Exemptions (TUE) and prevention programs. Its website www.nada.de serves as a central communication channel with current news, press releases and accessible content.[2][5]
NADA integrates sustainability into its core work through high quality standards: Since 2018, it has been certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 for the promotion and coordination of anti-doping measures in sports science, educational, social, medical and legal areas. Annual audits by TÜV Hessen ensure transparency and continuous improvement.[4]
The "Alles geben, nichts nehmen" initiative raises awareness of doping-free sport and cooperates with partners such as the federal government, DOSB, associations, Sporthilfe and business players such as adidas. It promotes preventive education and merchandise offers.[2][3][7]
Since 2023, Lars Mortsiefer has been the Chairman of the NADA, supported by a full-time board and an honorary supervisory board.[1][8]
With over 20 years of expertise, NADA remains a pioneer for a doping-free sport - for fair competitions and sustainable success.[1][5]
