editPorschke Menümanufaktur GmbH, based in Rellingen on the outskirts of Hamburg, is a traditional company that has specialized in healthy and age-appropriate catering for children in kindergartens and schools for over 30 years. Originally started in 1982 with Germany's first vegetarian snack bar at the weekly market, the company has developed into a leading provider in the industry.
The focus is on the daily preparation of wholesome and tasty lunches from fresh, preferably regional and seasonal ingredients. The "DGE quality standards for catering in schools" and "DGE quality standards for catering in daycare centers" are used as a basis. These standards include not only nutritional recommendations and nutrient-preserving preparation, but also aspects of sustainability and hygiene (HACCP). The company has been DGE-certified since 2014.
In addition to classic menu production, Porschke Menümanufaktur also offers services such as diet cuisine, lunch packages, the "Pfannkuchenexpress" (pancake express) as well as kitchen visits and nutritional education offers for parents' evenings and parents' council meetings.
The company's mission is to provide children with balanced and delicious meals that promote their development and provide them with a healthy nutritional foundation. Emphasis is placed on child-friendly preparation and consideration of nutritional science findings.
Porschke Menümanufaktur attaches great importance to sustainability. This is reflected in the preferred use of regional and seasonal products, the optimized route planning with its own transport vehicles to minimize downtimes and the use of stainless steel gastronorm containers and thermal containers for the transport of food. The company largely avoids ready-made products and flavor enhancers, flavorings and artificial ingredients. Instead, many products, such as mashed potatoes and tomato ketchup, are traditionally made in-house. The designated organic components comply with the EC Eco Regulation.
Regular inspections by the veterinary and food authorities as well as a voluntary control system by an external laboratory guarantee the highest safety and quality of the food.
