St. Dominikus Krankenhaus und Jugendhilfe gGmbH

The non-profit St. Dominikus Schulen GmbH is the sponsor of seven Catholic private schools in Rheinland-Pfalz and Saarland. Around 3,500 students are active at the general education schools in Speyer, St. Ingbert and Landstuhl.

The schools are in the tradition of two Dominican religious orders in Speyer: the Institut St. Dominikus and the Kloster St. Magdalena. These communities dedicated themselves in particular to the education and training of young people. The St. Dominikus Schulen GmbH continues this mission and creates a Christian school culture.

The St. Dominikus Schulen GmbH operates seven state-recognized substitute schools, including grammar schools and secondary schools. These schools offer a comprehensive general education and promote the intellectual and creative abilities of the students.

Mission and Values:

The schools' mission statement is a guide that is based on the messages of Saints Dominikus, Albertus Magnus, Katharina von Siena and Edith Stein as well as Bishop Nikolaus von Weis. The schools want to lead the young people entrusted to them to a successful relationship with God, to respect for their fellow human beings and nature, and to a correct self-knowledge and self-assessment. Christian values such as love, loyalty, responsibility and consideration are consciously taught.

Sustainability goals and initiatives:

The schools are committed to a holistic education that promotes the development of all of a person's strengths. They educate young people to have a critical attitude and to use science and technology responsibly. An example of the commitment to sustainability is the participation of the Nikolaus-von-Weis-Realschule plus in the Dreck-Weg-Tag of the city of Speyer.

The St. Dominikus Schulen GmbH attaches great importance to close cooperation with parents, alumni and support associations in order to ensure the quality of the schools and to maintain the Dominican roots.
