Der Landesverband Arbeit – Bildung – Teilhabe Saarland e.V. (LVABT Saarland) is the professional association of Saarland workshops for people with disabilities (WfbM) and represents their interests as well as those of the people with disabilities employed there. It acts as a link between the workshops, the responsible funding bodies, politics and the public. At the federal level, the LVABT Saarland is organized in the Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Werkstätten für behinderte Menschen (BAG WfbM) and coordinates the Straßburger Kreis, a European social forum, at the European level.
The LVABT Saarland is committed to the inclusion of people with disabilities, especially in working life. The member workshops offer a variety of jobs that are tailored to the individual needs and abilities of the employees. Emphasis is not only placed on vocational training, but also on promoting personal development and participation in social life.
The association is committed to fair pay and good working conditions in the workshops. Diverse paths to inclusion are taken through political representation, conferences and sports festivals. Particular attention is paid to cooperation with the regional economy in order to promote the transition of workshop employees to the general labor market.
