wirmachenwelle e.V., founded by big wave surfer Sebastian Steudtner in 2017, is a non-profit organization that specializes in promoting youth from difficult backgrounds through sports and nature. The main activities of the organization include various sports educational projects aimed at strengthening the mental and physical health as well as the social skills of the participants.

• WeMakeWaves: A project for homeless children and youth in Berlin, offering weekly and holiday activities such as swimming lessons, self-assertion, surf skating, environmental and nature conservation, sustainability, and healthy eating. The highlight of the project is a 6-day surf camp on Sylt, conducted in collaboration with the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of the University Hospital Freiburg[1][2].
• Social Surfers Berlin: A weekly recreational program in the socially disadvantaged area of Lichtenberg, offering sports such as self-assertion, slacklining, surf skating, stand-up paddling, and indoor surfing on urban nature areas. The project integrates exercises for the development of social skills and environmental topics[1].
• Surf’s Up Deutschland: An experiential educational project aimed at socially disadvantaged youth, focusing on the development of their personality and self-efficacy[1].
