
Mechanical Engineer - Strength and Durability Analysis
Einführung
Climeworks is a company dedicated to fighting global warming by removing CO₂ from the air. They develop, build, and operate direct air capture (DAC) machines. They are looking for a proactive and innovative mechanical engineer with experience in developing industrial serial products. The engineer will be responsible for conducting strength and durability analyses of mechanical assemblies and components using Finite Element Method (FEM) calculations. They will also plan and evaluate validation experiments, optimize components, and provide advice on design and structural mechanical issues. Proficiency in FEM and structural-mechanical analyses, 3D CAD skills, and knowledge of common standards are required. Fluency in German and English is also necessary.
Aufgaben
- Conduct strength and durability analyses of mechanical assemblies and components using Finite Element Method (FEM) calculations
- Plan, accompany, evaluate, and document validation experiments and accompanying measurements
- Dimension and optimize components in collaboration with development engineers
- Develop innovative solutions for design changes
- Engage external partners to ensure product quality
- Provide advice on design and structural mechanical issues
- Establish systematic-analytical methodologies within the team and develop workflows for FEM simulations
Vorraussetzungen
- At least 6 years of experience in developing industrial serial products
- Solid knowledge of FEM and structural-mechanical analyses (preferably ANSYS)
- Experience in product development, particularly in durability and thermomechanics
- Proficient in 3D CAD skills (preferably SolidWorks)
- Familiarity with common standards from the FKM guideline and Eurocode
- Experience in cost optimization of designs
- Proficient in German and English language skills
