    Einführung

    The German Institute for Human Rights is seeking two researchers to support their work in the field of climate change and human rights. The researchers will be responsible for supporting the Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food, assessing policy and implementation processes at German, European, and international levels, networking and cooperating with various actors in the field, and organizing events with civil society actors. The ideal candidates should have a university degree in law, political science, or social science, very good knowledge of international human rights protection, at least 3 years of scientific professional experience in the subject area, and relevant work experience in international work contexts. Language skills in German (B2) and English (C1) are required. The positions are full-time and can be split into different percentages. The remuneration is in accordance with pay group 13 of the TVöD (Federal Government) and the positions are limited in time until December 31, 2025. The place of work is Berlin, with the possibility of working from home. The Institute welcomes applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences of discrimination. The application deadline is October 24, 2023.

    Aufgaben

    • Supporting the Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food with scientific research, including the preparation of country visits
    • Assessment of policy and implementation processes at German, European and international level, including their human rights evaluation and development of recommendations for action and policy advice
    • Networking and cooperation with German, European and international actors in the field
    • Conception and implementation of events with civil society actors, including in European and non-European countries

    Voraussetzungen

    • University degree in law, political science or social science
    • Very good knowledge of international human rights protection, especially the right to food and related esc rights
    • At least 3 years of scientific professional experience in the subject area, including relevant publications
    • Relevant work experience in international work contexts
    • Language skills: German (B2), English (C1)
