Communications & Storytelling Lead

Required Experiences & Skills

• Exceptional writing and storytelling skills (in German and English), with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging narratives for diverse audiences.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in communications, journalism, marketing, media, or related fields.
• Strategic communications thinking, including the ability to plan and align messaging with organizational goals and campaigns.
• Hands-on content production, including editing and curating photo, video, and interview-based content for multiple platforms.
• Media and outreach experience, including building relationships, crafting stories, and managing press inquiries.
• Digital marketing and platform management, including social media, newsletters, and website content, with an understanding of audience engagement.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage content pipelines and work independently in a small team.
• Cultural sensitivity and ethical storytelling, particularly in relation to Indigenous and local communities.
• Ability to work across languages and cultural contexts with care, clarity, and respect.
• Proficiency in commonly used Adobe Creative Suite programs and Figma, with a strong aesthetic sensibility for creating and adapting content in alignment with the organization’s visual identity and brand guidelines

Key Responsibilties Strategic Communications & Outreach

• Develop and lead Love For Life’s communications and outreach strategy across digital platforms, media, and partner networks
• Create clear communication priorities, campaigns, and editorial planning aligned with organizational goals and impact areas
• Shape and maintain a consistent, authentic narrative voice across all channels and audiences
• Build and strengthen relationships with media, collaborators, partners, donors, and aligned networks to expand visibility and engagement
• Identify opportunities for strategic outreach, partnerships, and public presence.

Storytelling & Content Production

• Write, edit, and oversee compelling content in German and English, including impact stories, website content, newsletters, reports, and campaign materials
• Transform complex social, ecological, and cultural topics into clear and engaging narratives for diverse audiences
• Curate and develop multimedia storytelling using Love For Life’s extensive archive of photos, videos, interviews, and field documentation
• Collaborate closely with project teams to identify meaningful stories and ensure accurate, respectful representation of Indigenous and local communities
• Coordinate and maintain high editorial quality across communication materials and platforms.

Digital Presence & Campaigns

• Lead communication campaigns that strengthen community engagement, donor relations, and organizational visibility.
• Manage and continuously strengthen Love For Life’s digital presence, including social media channels, newsletters, and website.
• Monitor communication performance and audience engagement to support learning and strategic refinement.
