Your responsibilities will include representing the area of expertise in anatomy in its entirety in teaching, as well as research activities in the field of neuroimmunology. Active participation in strengthening the research profile of the Medical School OWL, in particular the focus areas "Brain- Impaired Participation" and "Microbial Diversity in the Human Habitat", is expected, as is active participation in future joint initiatives and research collaborations. The establishment of a neuroimmunological disease/animal model at the Bielefeld location is desired.
In close cooperation with the Anatomy and Cell Biology working group and others, you will be responsible for the conceptual co-design of innovative anatomy courses with a focus on neuroanatomical content. The professorship also offers great potential for future cooperation with clinical and/or neuroscientific working groups. Close scientific links to CeBiTec (Center for Biotechnology) and the Faculties of Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics are expressly desired.
Accordingly, we are looking for a personality with leadership experience with (very) good communication and coordination skills.

The teaching load follows § 3 Para. 1 No. 1 LVV. The recruitment requirements are based on § 36 HG.
The appointment (if filled as a W1 professorship) is initially limited to three years with an option of extension for a further three years following a positive interim evaluation. In case of a positive tenure evaluation in the final year, the appointment will be transferred to an indefinite W2 professorship). The interim/tenure evaluation procedure is regulated in the statute for quality assurance of professorships with tenure track (TT). Tenure-track professorships are firmly established at Bielefeld University as an equal tenure option. Tenure-track professors are offered a target-group-specific personnel development program that provides support during the arrival phase and in preparation for the interim and tenure evaluation.
