Albatros is a social association with its origins in the self-help movement of the 1970s, which has continuously developed since its foundation in 1984 to support people in difficult life situations in Berlin and beyond. Various non-profit organizations and the founding association work together under the albatros.social brand.
Albatros offers a wide range of services in the areas of mental health, social integration, self-help, child, youth and family support, health and care, education and employment, as well as migration and integration. These include psychosocial counseling, contact and counseling centers, day centers, assisted living, help with upbringing, community centers, daycare centers and much more. A particular focus is on supporting refugees, for example through psychological counseling and accommodation.
The vision of Albatros is a just and resilient society in which everyone can live self-determined lives, experience social participation and be in harmony with the environment. Albatros is committed to a world free from discrimination, regardless of mental impairment, social disadvantage or cultural origin.
The actions and work of Albatros are characterized by courage, passion, dynamism, diversity, trust, competence and cooperation. Albatros develops projects and places with interdisciplinary teams that enable cross-generational and intercultural participation.
