The Bayerische Landesärztekammer (BLÄK) is the statutory professional representation of all Bavarian physicians. With over 94,000 members (as of February 2023), it is the largest medical chamber in Germany[1]. The BLÄK is part of the three-tiered medical self-administration in Bavaria, which consists of the BLÄK, eight medical district associations (ÄBV), and 63 medical district associations (ÄKV).
The BLÄK represents the professional interests of physicians and promotes medical training and continuing education. It monitors the fulfillment of medical professional duties and participates in public health care. A central concern is the promotion of dialogue between physicians, the public, and other stakeholders in the healthcare sector[1].
The BLÄK has adopted the strategy "BLÄK 2028 – Fit for the Future" to ensure the future viability of the chamber. This strategy focuses on customer/member orientation, political shaping, employee qualification, and efficiency[1]. The BLÄK is also committed to promoting digital solutions and strengthening health promotion[3].
As a modern and digital organization, the BLÄK offers interesting career opportunities in various fields, from medicine to IT to marketing. The BLÄK is undergoing a transformation process and is looking for dedicated employees who want to actively participate in further development[1].
