Berliner Register

The project Berliner Register is a comprehensive initiative aimed at combating discrimination and exclusion in Berlin. The main mission of the project is to document, make visible, and develop measures to combat incidents of discrimination and far-right activities.

• Documentation of Incidents: The project collects and publishes incidents that are racist, anti-Semitic, LGBTIQ*-hostile, anti-Roma, far-right, social-chauvinistic, ableist, or anti-feminist. These incidents are reported by citizens, victim support services, and other sources.
• Publication and Evaluation: The reported incidents are published in an online chronicle and evaluated annually. These evaluations provide detailed information about the frequency and nature of discrimination in the various districts of Berlin.
• Annual Reports and Analyses: The results of the evaluations are summarized in annual reports and analyses, which are made available to policymakers, administrative staff, and engaged initiatives to develop targeted measures against discrimination.

• Solidarity and Awareness Raising: By making incidents visible and involving local communities, the project promotes solidarity with those affected and raises awareness of the issue of discrimination in their own neighborhoods.
• Local Engagement: The project operates in every Berlin district and incorporates local information and conditions into the evaluations to create a detailed and current picture of the discrimination situation.
• Networking and Cooperation: The Berliner Register networks with various counseling centers, engaged individuals on the ground, and other initiatives to develop and implement effective measures against discrimination and exclusion.
