About Netzwerk Straffälligenhilfe Baden-Württemberg
editThe Netzwerk Straffälligenhilfe Baden-Württemberg is an organization dedicated to supporting offenders and promoting their reintegration into society. Through a variety of projects and initiatives, the network offers professional help and advice in various areas of life.
The core services include:
- Resocialization: Support in coping with problems in the areas of housing, work, livelihood, addiction and psychosocial stress.
- Debt counseling: Help in overcoming financial emergencies, especially for inmates, where indebtedness is often a trigger for criminal behavior.
- Placement of community service ("Sweating instead of sitting"): Enabling the avoidance of prison sentences by performing community service and remaining in the social environment.
- Reintegration of older prisoners: Support in the transition to care or supervision, as the number of older inmates is steadily increasing.
- Reintegration of mentally conspicuous prisoners: Improving social integration through a special pilot project.
- Parent-child project: Prevention program for children of delinquent parents to give them a chance for positive development.
- Anti-violence training: Offense-, deficit- and resource-oriented socio-educational intervention to promote respectful interaction.
- Outreach social work: Support for clients with mental illnesses and special social difficulties.
- Fiduciary money management: Support for people with mental illnesses and social challenges to avoid substitute imprisonment.
- Aftercare project Chance: Intensive support in the transition from detention to freedom in order to improve resocialization opportunities and prevent renewed offenses.
The network works closely with associations of independent offender aid and offers its services voluntarily, confidentially and free of charge. A special focus is on networking relevant cooperation partners, such as service providers, to ensure comprehensive and needs-based support.
The Netzwerk Straffälligenhilfe Baden-Württemberg is also involved in public relations and offers introductory courses for volunteers in prisons. Through conferences and discussions with political decision-makers, the network advocates for the interests of offenders and the improvement of the framework conditions for their reintegration.
The goal is to promote the resocialization of offenders through professional support and individual care, to prevent social exclusion and to contribute to the safety of society. The network also sees offender aid as victim protection.
