The DAHW Deutsche Lepra- und Tuberkulosehilfe e.V. is an independent, internationally active aid organization dedicated to fighting poverty-related and neglected diseases. Since its founding in 1957, the DAHW has been committed to people affected by leprosy, tuberculosis and other neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) and their consequences such as disability and social exclusion.

The DAHW focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of leprosy, tuberculosis and NTDs. It pursues a holistic approach that combines medical care with social and economic support. The aim is to enable affected people to live in dignity and to promote their equal participation in society.
The main mission of the DAHW is to improve the health and well-being of the poorest of the poor. It works closely with local partner organizations, national health programs and international organizations to develop and implement sustainable solutions.

Partnerships and Networks
The DAHW is part of various international networks to combat NTDs and tuberculosis, including the UN-UNION, the Neglected Tropical Disease NGDO Network and IDDC. Its most important partners include the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Union (EU), the Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ), UNICEF and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM).
Commitment and Donations
The DAHW finances its work through donations and public funds. It has been awarded the DZI donation seal, which guarantees responsible handling of donations.
