The Kinderschutzbund Kerpen invests time, know-how, ideas and commitment in the well-being of children and families. As the sponsor of various facilities and services in the Kerpen area and beyond, the association sees itself as an important point of contact for children, young people and parents in various life situations.
The core services of the Kinderschutzbund Kerpen include the care and support of children of school age. This is mainly done through the operation of seven Open All-Day Schools (OGS) in Kerpen and Wesseling, including the associated fringe care. Here, children are looked after by qualified specialists after school, receive a hot lunch, are supported with their homework and can take part in a variety of AG activities that promote their creativity and sporting interests. The Kinderschutzbund Kerpen also offers reliable care during the holidays.
Another important focus is inclusion assistance. The Kinderschutzbund Kerpen provides inclusion staff for children and young people with mental, intellectual or physical disabilities in schools in the Rhein-Erft-Kreis and in Cologne. The aim is to enable these children and young people to participate in general life and learning and to support them in their individual development.
In addition, the Kinderschutzbund Kerpen operates the first autism outpatient clinic in the Kerpen urban area. Scientifically based therapy approaches are offered here, which are tailored to the individual needs of people with autism. The services include behavioral therapy, speech and communication therapy, occupational therapy and social skills training.
The offer is supplemented by the Juze21 youth center in Horrem, family support, as well as counseling and therapy services for parents and children.
The Kinderschutzbund Kerpen sees itself as a professional point of contact oriented towards the well-being of children in everyday life and in emergencies. The association's mission is to strengthen the rights of children, promote their development and support families in their educational tasks. Emphasis is placed on close cooperation with parents, schools, therapists and other institutions involved. The Kinderschutzbund Kerpen invests in the future of children, because they are our future.
