The DRK Kreisverband Groß-Gerau e.V. is a versatile organization dedicated to serving people. With around 500 volunteer helpers and 500 full-time employees in the rescue service and social services, as well as 150 children and young people in the Jugendrotkreuz, the district association is an important part of the local community.

The DRK KV Groß-Gerau operates six rescue stations in Gernsheim, Groß-Gerau, Mörfelden-Walldorf, Riedstadt, Rüsselsheim and Trebur-Geinsheim. The DRK Rettungsdienst Kreis Groß-Gerau GmbH, a 100% subsidiary of the district association, handles over 27,000 operations annually.
The district association offers a wide range of opportunities to get involved, whether on a voluntary or full-time basis. Training courses and internships are offered regularly, especially in nursing and rescue services.
The DRK KV Groß-Gerau is part of the national and international Rotkreuzbewegung (Red Cross movement). The work of the district association is based on the seven principles of the Red Cross: Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and Universality. These principles form the foundation of the self-image and mission statement of the DRK KV Groß-Gerau.
