The Evangelisches Altenzentrum Ohligs (EAZ) is a diaconal, non-profit institution in Solingen dedicated to elderly care, senior support and home care. The focus is on elderly people who find a reliable, respectful environment here that is oriented towards their individual needs. The house combines professional care with a Christian-based understanding of values and sees its work as a service to people.
The range of services primarily includes inpatient long-term care with interspersed short-term care and outpatient care at home. The offer is supplemented by a wide range of nursing, therapeutic and social services: basic and treatment care, activating support, employment and leisure activities, support with the daily structure and help in crisis situations. Cooperation with relatives, doctors, therapists, authorities and other partners also plays a central role in enabling suitable solutions for every situation.
An important part of everyday life at the EAZ is community and quality of life. Residents benefit from attractive common rooms, devotional services, culturally sensitive care and additional support in accordance with the applicable social law regulations. In addition, services such as hairdressing, foot care, adapted nutrition and a wide range of social activities ensure a self-determined and pleasant everyday life. The house has several living areas and offers both single and double rooms as well as rooms for meetings, therapy and spiritual impulses.
The retirement center is also open to external guests: A café with a kiosk creates a meeting place where lunch, coffee and cake as well as everyday items are offered. In this way, the EAZ contributes not only to the supply, but also to social integration in the neighborhood.
The house's mission and values are clearly diaconal: charity, dignity, reliability, respect and human attention form the basis of our actions. Employees see their work as part of a community of faith and service in which professional care and personal attention belong together.
Another focus is on sustainability in a social sense: The EAZ promotes long-term security of supply, individual support, cross-generational volunteering and the close involvement of relatives and network partners. Through the combination of inpatient and outpatient care, supplementary care services and a strong community focus, the retirement center makes a sustainable contribution to quality of life, participation and dignity in old age.
