The Evangelische Kirchenkreis Lennep is a central association of Protestant congregations in the Bergisches Land and part of the Protestant Church in the Rhineland. With a history of more than 200 years, it combines established tradition with a clear focus on the present and future of church work. Today, the church district stands for lively community, reliable structures and diverse offers for people in different phases of life.
The focus of its work is the cooperation of the congregations and the joint shaping of church life. The church district supports its congregations in the areas of church music, day care centers, education, youth work, pastoral care, diaconia and administration. In this way, it creates a framework for a broad church and social commitment - from early education to school and extracurricular educational opportunities to adult education and training for employees and presbyteries.
The close connection between is particularly formative. The church district is committed to spiritually accompanying people, promoting community and strengthening social participation. Proximity to the congregations, good networking and cooperation with neighboring church districts play an important role. The church district is also involved in diaconia and pastoral care as a reliable partner for support, orientation and help in challenging life situations.
Another focus is on working with children and young people. With a strong focus on day care centers, family centers, schools and youth work, the church district accompanies educational and development processes from the very beginning. This is complemented by training and qualification offers that sustainably strengthen pedagogical and church work.
In the sense of responsible future planning, the Evangelische Kirchenkreis Lennep also promotes sustainable and cooperative church development. This includes the efficient use of common resources, the networking of congregations and the strengthening of full-time and voluntary structures.
