Gangway e.V. is an organization that has been active since 1990, specializing in street social work in Berlin. With over 100 social workers, we work closely in various teams with young people and adults living in vulnerable life and housing situations.
Our mission is to meet people in their living environments with respect, appreciation, and active listening. We are committed to strengthening the abilities of each individual, enabling participation in societal resources. We respect and empower people's right to self-determination in shaping their life perspectives and daily lives. We firmly oppose misanthropy, racism, and exclusion, and see the diversity of cultures, languages, and different life concepts as an enrichment and resource for our society[2].
Gangway e.V. is funded by the Senate and district offices of Berlin and supported by donations. Our work would not be possible without the help of donors and sponsors. We use this support to equip our facilities, initiate new projects, and further develop our offerings[1][5].
With our work, we strive to improve the living conditions of people in vulnerable life situations and give them the chance to shape their lives responsibly and successfully.
