Die Hauptstadtkinder gGmbH is a non-profit provider of day care centers in Berlin, which emerged from a parent initiative. The focus of the work is the child as an individual with his or her needs and his or her own educational process.

Kernleistungen:

Hauptstadtkinder operates several Kitas in Berlin, offering care for children from a few months old until they start school. The pedagogical work is based on the Berliner Bildungsprogramm and integrates various approaches such as open work, language support, healthy nutrition, inclusion as well as movement and music education. Each Kita develops its own individual focus, oriented towards the needs of the children, families and employees.

Mission und Werte:

The provider has made it its mission to address and support the needs of children and parents in Berlin. The work is based on social commitment and active cooperation. Hauptstadtkinder does not pursue any religious or political interests and goals, but is oriented towards a humanistic image of man, an ideologically neutral education, upbringing and care, as well as the child's living environment and his family. Mutual appreciation and constructive cooperation in the interests of the children are in the foreground.

Pädagogische Schwerpunkte:

The central pedagogical focuses include the promotion of health and language. The Kitas value the physical, mental and social health of the children, promote movement and relaxation and support the children in their individual development. Language support is integrated into everyday life, with dialogue and the participation of the children being particularly important. The diversity of languages is seen as an enrichment and is included in the pedagogical everyday life. Another focus is art: visual design, music and theater.

Qualitätsentwicklung:

Hauptstadtkinder attaches great importance to the quality of its facilities. This is ensured through internal and external evaluations, regular further training of the staff and the constant updating of the pedagogical concepts. The quality development of the day care centers is regularly accompanied by external providers.

Nachhaltigkeit:

The Kitas of Hauptstadtkinder want to be places where children can learn individually with all their senses. The children will understand by grasping and become active themselves. Raised beds in the garden give the children the opportunity to experience plant growth and harvesting throughout the year. Weather observations and festivals to mark the change of seasons emphasize the special relationship to nature.
