Hoppípolla e.V. is a parent initiative that operates a child-friendly and inclusive daycare center in the heart of Neukölln, Berlin. Founded in 2019, Hoppípolla e.V. is organized as a nonprofit Association and is a member of the umbrella organization of Berlin's children's and student stores e.V.[1][2].
Our educational concept is based on the principles of Emmi Pikler, Maria Montessori, and Jesper Juul, as well as the Berlin Education Program. We view children as active, creative, and autonomous designers of their own development. The focus is on mindful support, community, social relationships, and promoting children's self-determination[1].
Our mission is to create a safe and valuable environment where children are supported and respected. We work closely with the primary caregivers of the children to foster a partnership and trusting relationship. Our values include:
A central concern of Hoppípolla e.V. is the promotion of environmental awareness and sustainability. We strive to create an environmentally friendly and sustainable environment where children learn to appreciate and protect nature. Furthermore, we are committed to representing diverse perspectives and actively seek families with BIPoC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) and/or LGBTINQ* members to form an inclusive and diverse community[1].
After a successful crowdfunding campaign and overcoming financial challenges, we were able to open our doors in April 2021. We offer space for about 20 children and continuously work on the further development of our educational concepts and initiatives[1][3].
Hoppípolla e.V. is more than just a daycare center – it is a community dedicated to promoting children, diversity, and sustainability. We look forward to working with you to create a positive and supportive environment for all children.
