The
The Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Gartenbau und Landespflege North Rhine-Westphalia (LAGL NW) is an experienced and competent partner for cities and municipalities in NRW that want to host a Landesgartenschau. Since the 1980s, LAGL NW has been supporting municipalities in the application, preparation and implementation of Landesgartenschauen.
LAGL NW understands Landesgartenschauen as instruments of urban development that go beyond a mere "inauguration festival". They offer a fixed timeframe to implement concrete urban development and green planning measures and make them accessible to the population. Landesgartenschauen create sustainable structures by creating permanent green and open spaces or adapting existing ones to future requirements. They make an important contribution to adapting cities to climate change and improve the framework conditions for sustainable economic development.
LAGL NW offers a wide range of services, from the initial formation of intent to the identification of suitable areas to the feasibility study and concrete application. A closely knit network of external consultants is available to support the cities and municipalities. After the award to carry out the Landesgartenschau, LAGL NW continues to support the municipalities in the management, in supervisory and advisory boards and, with its many years of experience, contributes to the economically and professionally success-oriented implementation of the Landesgartenschau.
LAGL NW is a non-profit association in which landscape architects, gardeners of all disciplines from the professional and hobby sector as well as florists work together. The aim is to ensure the regular implementation of garden shows, to maintain the recognition value, to ensure the transfer of knowledge and to secure the funding landscape.
LAGL NW supports the municipalities before, during and after the garden show through know-how transfer, process optimization, automation, high-quality horticultural exhibition contributions, a strong network and exchange of experience.
LAGL NW sees itself as an engine for sustainable urban development concepts and the development of green infrastructure. Garden shows demonstrate in a variety of ways how life on site can be made more sustainable, for example through new residential areas, green roofs or land unsealing. They provide impetus for future-oriented, sustainable urban development and for green concepts in urban areas.
