About LEIKA
editLEIKA is a future-oriented housing project in Leipzig that focuses on creating barrier-free, sustainable and solidarity-based living space. At its core is the idea of cooperative housing, in which communal living and individual needs are brought into harmony.
LEIKA is realizing a multi-family house project with a high proportion of social housing in order to create urgently needed, social and long-term affordable housing for around 80 people. The project is characterized by its inclusiveness, offering a home to people with different needs, abilities and limitations.
Particular attention is paid to the accessibility of the entire building and the flexible design of the apartments, which can be adapted to different lifestyles. Cluster apartments enable the combination of units for single households up to large shared apartments. In cooperation with the Mobilen Behindertendienst Leipzig e.V., a cluster shared apartment for people with assistance needs is also planned.
LEIKA promotes community life through a variety of meeting places, such as roof and backyard gardens, arcades and common rooms. A café and rooms for social and cultural organizations on the ground floor open the project to the district and create added value for the entire neighborhood.
LEIKA attaches great importance to sustainability and ecological responsibility. The project is being implemented taking into account the latest standards in order to make a contribution to environmental protection.
In addition, LEIKA is involved in electrical planning and construction supervision, relying on Building Information Modeling (BIM) to standardize and optimize processes. LEIKA plans and implements electrical installations for new buildings and renovations, including data technology, lighting, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, lightning protection, photovoltaics and charge management. LEIKA is also involved in fire protection and plans and integrates fire alarm systems in buildings.
