The Institut für Psychotherapie Potsdam GmbH has been a state-recognized training and further education center for psychotherapists in Potsdam-Babelsberg since 2008. It qualifies psychologists with diploma or master's degrees in psychodynamic-oriented methods, including depth psychological psychotherapy, analytical psychotherapy, and a combined training in both. After successful completion and state examination, graduates obtain their license as psychological psychotherapists. The training enables them to establish themselves in private practice with billing to statutory and private health insurance companies or to work in psychosocial institutions.[1][4][3]
The institute offers curricular training courses with a focus on a multimodal and method-integrative understanding of psychotherapy based on psychodynamic-psychoanalytic concepts. Supplementary offers include group psychotherapy and the supplementary procedure Psychodynamic Body Psychotherapy. The didactics are practical, scientifically up-to-date and adapted to learning needs, with regular evaluations. In the last training section, participants practice in the Institutsambulanz under the supervision of experienced trainers. Here, mental illnesses such as anxiety disorders, depression, eating and behavioral disorders, psychosomatic complaints, burn-out syndromes as well as compulsions and functional disorders are treated - primarily in depth psychological or analytical psychotherapy, possibly with physical orientation.[1][4][5]
The institute's main mission is to promote a method-spanning, psychodynamic approach that combines classic depth psychological methods with modern integrations. It emphasizes the reflected consideration of unconscious psychodynamics and individual indication. A lively learning atmosphere creates a bridge between theory and practice, supported by continuous engagement with scientific discourse. Values such as diligence, topicality and evidence-based further development characterize the work - from training to patient care.[1][4]
Explicit sustainability initiatives are not described in detail, but employee reviews highlight a high level of environmental and social awareness (5.0 points) as well as strong equality and good treatment of older colleagues.
