About Janusz Korczak-Haus
editThe Janusz Korczak-Haus is a small, family-like home that is based on Rudolf Steiner's Waldorf education. The facility offers children and young people between the ages of 0 and 9 a long-term place to live in a three-generation house, with the aim of returning them to their original family if possible.
The focus of the work is the child with their individual needs and nature. The goal is to promote a unity of body, soul and spirit and to give the children a basic trust in the world. This is achieved through intensive sensory experiences, the imitation of adult activities and the creation of a stimulating environment.
The Janusz Korczak-Haus accepts children and young people with educational difficulties, behavioral problems, reactive disorders, ADD syndromes, hyperactivity or developmental disorders due to early childhood neglect. Children with severe learning disabilities and psychotic children are excluded.
The pedagogy of the house aims to give the children security and help them to develop their individuality. By involving them in everyday life, the design of festivals and the course of the year, as well as through Waldorf-oriented activities such as gardening, animal care, perception training and nature experiences, the children are supported in their development. Musical and artistic offers serve as therapeutic tools.
The Janusz Korczak-Haus attaches great importance to close cooperation with parents, educators, teachers, doctors and therapists in order to ensure the best possible support for each child. The goal is the stabilization and emotional maturation of the children and young people.
