Kath. Kirchengemeindeverband - Bornheim An Rhein und Vorgebirge

The Seelsorgebereich Bornheim - An Rhein und Vorgebirge is a community of six parishes that extends across the picturesque region between the Rhine and the Vorgebirge. The parishes include St. Servatius Bornheim, St. Evergislus Brenig, St. Sebastian Roisdorf, St. Georg Widdig and St. Aegidius Hersel.

The Seelsorgebereich offers a wide range of spiritual and social services for people of all ages and in different life situations. These include regular church services, the celebration of the sacraments (baptism, communion, confirmation, confession, anointing of the sick, ordination, marriage), pastoral care and support in emergencies, bereavement support and offers for (re-)entry into the Catholic Church.

A particular focus is on working with families, children and young people. The family center offers a variety of programs and support. There are kindergartens (Kitas) in various communities, youth groups such as scouts and altar servers, as well as offers such as KaLeiBo (Katholische Landjugend Bornheim).

Seniors are also an important part of the community. There are senior citizens' meetings, senior citizens' clubs and offers such as home communion for those who can no longer come to church.

Voluntary work is very important in the Seelsorgebereich. The Lotsenpunkt and the Zeitschenker are examples of initiatives that bring people together and offer support.

Church music plays an important role in the Seelsorgebereich, with offers such as children's choirs and church choirs. The Katholische Frauengemeinschaft Deutschlands (kfd) is also active.

The Seelsorgebereich Bornheim - An Rhein und Vorgebirge sees itself as a lively and open community that faces the challenges of the time and is committed to a coexistence in which faith is lived and charity is practiced. Current topics are dealt with in the parish newsletter, which appears regularly.

The Seelsorgebereich is also committed to prevention, especially in the area of protecting children and young people. Training courses are offered to ensure a safe environment.

The committees, such as the Pfarrgemeinderat (PGR) and the church boards, play an important role in shaping pastoral life in the Seelsorgebereich. They work closely with the pastoral team to identify the needs of the people on site and develop appropriate offers.
