editThe Kinderladen Mozartstraße e.V. is a traditional parent initiative in Hamburg-Barmbek-Süd, which has existed since 1972. As one of the oldest "Kinderläden" in Hamburg, the "Mozi" offers loving and high-quality care for elementary children aged three years until they start school.
The focus of the pedagogical work is the child as an individual in a community of children, parents and educators. The educators see themselves as companions who support the children in their development and give them space to develop. Particular emphasis is placed on promoting independence, emotional and social skills, creativity and body awareness.
The "Mozi" pursues a situation-oriented approach, in which experiencing meaningful connections is paramount. Learning happens as a result of active doing, whereby the children acquire social skills in real situations. Close cooperation with the parents is an essential part of the concept. Through the active participation of the parents in the association Kinderladen Mozartstraße e.V., a high degree of transparency and participation opportunities is guaranteed.
The "Kinderladen" attaches great importance to healthy nutrition. The children receive vegetarian whole foods, which are predominantly from organic farming. Shared meals, such as breakfast, in which parents can also participate, strengthen the sense of community.
In addition to the individual support of the children, the "Mozi" offers a wide range of activities, including weekly excursions, early musical education, gymnastics, crafts and preschool work with playful English and project work. Festivals such as Fasching, Easter, summer festival, lantern parade and Christmas are celebrated together with the parents.
Quality development is an ongoing process, which is ensured through regular team meetings, parent meetings, training courses and parent surveys. The aim is to continuously develop the high quality standards of the "Kinderladen" and to offer the children optimal care and support.
