About Produktionsschule Altona
editProduktionsschule Altona offers young people who are looking for their way into the world of work a unique vocational preparation year. Here you don't learn in the classroom, but through practical work on real customer orders in one of our workshops.
We offer you the opportunity to orient yourself professionally and prepare for an apprenticeship or work. We support you individually, regardless of whether you do not yet have a school leaving certificate or already have one. In small learning groups, you can catch up on your extended First School Leaving Certificate (eESA) or concentrate intensively on finding a suitable job or apprenticeship.
In our workshops – carpentry, painting, gastronomy, graphics and IT – you will be guided by experienced specialists and familiarized with the rules and procedures of the working world. You will acquire valuable knowledge and skills that will benefit you later in any profession.
Our goal is to place you in work or training according to your interests, strengths and abilities, so that you can lead an independent life as soon as possible. We expect you to be present, punctual, to comply with our rules and to be willing to do your best. In return, you will receive regular feedback and support from us to achieve your goals.
Produktionsschule Altona is financed, among other things, by the sale of products and services that are created in the workshops. This results in high-quality products and services in the fields of carpentry, painting, gastronomy, graphics and IT. The carpentry shop manufactures furniture and carries out interior work, the painting department takes over renovation and design work, the gastronomy offers catering services, the graphics workshop creates printed products and the IT workshop advises companies on IT issues.
We attach importance to involving our participants in as many phases of an order as possible. Our employees are not only technically qualified, but also pedagogically trained to motivate and guide young people.
