    About Rudolf Steiner Schule Hamburg-Wandsbek

    Edit

The Rudolf Steiner Schule Hamburg-Wandsbek is a traditional, general education school that works on the basis of the anthroposophical study of man by Rudolf Steiner. As the second oldest Waldorf school in the world, it combines over 100 years of experience with a modern, future-oriented approach in the heart of Hamburg.

The school offers a comprehensive range of educational opportunities from kindergarten to Abitur. In addition to promoting the personal strengths of the students, the school emphasizes the development of self-confidence, creativity and social commitment. The aim is to enable young people to actively and responsibly shape society.

    The educational offer includes:

    • Waldorf Kindergartens: In Tonndorf and Farmsen, children aged 1-7 are cared for and supported.
    • Waldorf School: The school has two classes per grade and includes grades 1 to 13.
    • After-school care: Care and support for students even outside of school hours.

In addition to the Waldorf degree, the following qualifications can be obtained at the Rudolf Steiner Schule Hamburg-Wandsbek: First School Leaving Certificate (ESA), Intermediate School Leaving Certificate (MSA), school part of the university entrance qualification and the Abitur.

The school attaches great importance to a lively school community in which students, teachers, parents and staff meet on an equal footing. Decisions are worked out by consensus, and self-administration is actively practiced.

As a "Climate School", the Rudolf Steiner Schule Hamburg-Wandsbek is actively committed to sustainability and environmental protection. The initiatives include the renaturation of the Berner Au, a student company that deals with electrosmog, and the conversion to energy-efficient classroom lighting. The school maintains a partnership with a school in Morogoro, Tanzania, to promote intercultural exchange and global awareness.

The Rudolf Steiner Schule Hamburg-Wandsbek relies on donations to realize its diverse projects and initiatives. These include the new construction of the Farmsen kindergarten, the renovation of the old building and the strengthening of the Climate School. Alumni, parents and friends of the school are cordially invited to support the future of the school with monetary donations, student sponsorships or time for projects.
