The foundation Schüler*innen Helfen Leben (SHL) is the largest youth aid organization in Germany with decades of experience in (post-)conflict regions. It promotes and operates youth projects with a focus on education, encounter, democracy, and engagement. Once a year, SHL organizes the Social Day nationwide in Germany, where about 60,000 students exchange their classroom for a workplace for one day and donate their wages. From Lübeck, we organize a comprehensive program for European youth encounters and exchanges and support youth initiatives across Europe in conducting their own Social Days.
