selbst und sicher e.V. is a trauma-sensitive child and youth welfare organization based in Hamburg. Since 2010, the association has offered a broad spectrum of (trauma-)pedagogical and therapeutic methods aimed at strengthening the self-esteem and inner security of children, adolescents and families. Through many years of experience in working with (refugee) young people and their families, the organization has a great variety of experience.
The association offers a variety of educational assistance, including:
A special focus is on Trauma-Sensitive Work. selbst und sicher e.V. offers a Trauma Consultation Hour that supports refugee families in coping with traumatic experiences. In addition, the association provides interpreters for therapeutic sessions to ensure precise and empathetic communication.
With the Power Kids/Power Women courses, the association offers special programs to strengthen self-assertion and self-defense. In these courses, participants learn to recognize their strengths, set boundaries, and defend themselves against disrespect and violence.
The goal of selbst und sicher e.V. is to support children, adolescents and families in their development and to help them lead a self-determined and fulfilling life. The association attaches great importance to a respectful and appreciative cooperation with all parties involved.
