The STADTWERKE SELM GmbH has been active as a public-private company since 2011 and shapes life in Selm sustainably and efficiently. With a participation of the city of Selm (51%) and EURAWASSER GmbH & Co. KG (49%), the company combines local responsibility with professional expertise. As the majority shareholder of Selm Netz GmbH & Co. KG, it operates the electricity and gas distribution network and ensures stable network operation around the clock.
The STADTWERKE SELM cover a wide range of essential services:
Energy Supply: From January 1, 2026, the company, in cooperation with mark-E, will take over the sustainable electricity and gas supply for households and businesses. The focus is on green electricity, fair tariffs and personal service.
Water and Wastewater: Since taking over the water concession a year ago (as of September 2025), it has guaranteed a safe drinking water supply. The installation of digital water meters for precise and efficient billing is currently underway. Wastewater disposal completes the offer.
Waste Disposal: On behalf of the cities of Selm and Werne, it organizes the collection of residual, organic and recyclable materials. Annual waste calendars, an app for individual appointments and the recycling center on Industriestraße facilitate household waste disposal. Household quantities such as paper, garden and construction waste can be handed in on time.
City Services: Street cleaning, maintenance of roads, squares and traffic facilities (signage, lighting systems), green space maintenance, cemetery care and winter services ensure cleanliness, safety and traffic safety - daily with sweepers and special equipment, even at events.
Regular meter readings for electricity and gas support precise consumption recording and quality assurance.
