STIFTUNG GIERSCH

The STIFTUNG GIERSCH, founded in 1994, is a non-profit foundation based in Frankfurt am Main, dedicated to the public welfare in the Rhine-Main region. True to the motto "Promoting the future through foundations," the foundation is involved in the areas of science and research, art and culture, and the promotion of medical projects, especially for children and adolescents.

The foundation supports scientists from various disciplines and promotes interdisciplinary work to gain new scientific insights. Core projects include the MUSEUM GIERSCH, which is dedicated to the art and cultural history of the Rhine-Main region, and the Portikus, an exhibition hall for contemporary art.

Another focus is on promoting young scientists. The foundation operates the Giersch Science Center (GSC) as an interdisciplinary research center and supports the Graduierten Schule Giersch (GSG), which awards scholarships to doctoral students. In addition, the foundation is involved in the Deutschlandstipendium at the Goethe-Universität Frankfurt and the Technische Universität Darmstadt.

In the field of pediatrics, the STIFTUNG GIERSCH has financed the new building of the Clementine Kinderhospital and supports the Aktionskomitee Kind im Krankenhaus (AKIK). It also promotes art therapy for cancer patients at the Universitätsklinik Frankfurt am Main.

The STIFTUNG GIERSCH makes an important contribution to the promotion of science, art, culture and medicine in the Rhine-Main region and beyond. It strives to support people and institutions and to bring about positive changes in society.
