Head of Terminal Services – Intermodal Terminals (Rail/Road) (all genders)

Your mission that drives sustainability in logistics

As Head of Terminal Services – Intermodal Terminals (Rail/Road), you are responsible for designing, optimising and scaling high-impact terminal processes across our network. You establish a KPI-driven performance management system, lead cross-terminal quality governance with partners, and support operational and commercial onboarding for new terminals.

What you’ll do

Own the development and optimisation of highly effective terminal processes across the CargoBeamer network
Build and embed a metrics-driven performance management setup for all terminals to enable continuous improvement
Drive capacity and budget planning
Identify improvement opportunities using internal/external benchmarks and best practices for terminal quality and performance
Lead quality councils with third-party terminals and service providers to ensure high standards and strengthen partnerships
Standardise tools, steering methods, documentation, and develop/roll out AI use cases in terminal services
Support local teams with the operational and commercial onboarding of new terminals
Design and implement training programmes for terminal staff; lead international teams
Support Business Development by conducting terminal screenings in defined target regions aligned with strategic goals
Contribute to projects introducing new technologies or systems to further optimise terminal processes

Your Background & Skills

Degree in Business Administration, Transport Economics, Logistics or a comparable field
Several years of experience in similar roles within terminals, logistics, warehousing or ground operations in the transport sector
Experience leading international teams
Strong expertise in process optimisation,performance management, and ideally quality management
Experience with project management methods and tools, preferably in rail freight / intermodal logistics
Knowledge of international rail standards and regulations is an advantage
Experience working with international partners and suppliers
Fluent German and English (negotiation level); additional European languages are welcome
Confident user of MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
