W2 professorship for the field of Business Psychology

Recruitment requirements

For this professorship, we are looking for a committed person, who has gained substantial professional experience in a responsible role outside the higher education sector and be motivated to contribute this expertise to teaching and applied research for the benefit of our students after completing a university degree in psychology or business psychology.

A degree in (business-) psychology and, preferably, a doctoral qualification in the field of (business-) psychology are required. Extensive professional experience in a position of responsibility outside academia is expected.

Candidates must demonstrate substantial experience in one of the focus areas: Digital Experience and Human Behaviour or Workplace Health Management.

With regard to Digital Experience, sound knowledge of and experience in the user-centered design and evaluation of interactive systems are expected. Central to this are the psychological foundations of human-machine interaction, human behavior in dealing with technical systems, and their application, from classic usability questions to the evaluation of digital and AI-based applications and products.

With regard to Workplace Health Management, sound knowledge of and experience in the analysis, design and evaluation of organizational change processes and / or health-promoting and future-oriented work design are expected.

In addition, sound knowledge of quantitative methods, including multivariate procedures, is desired, irrespective of the area of specialization.

Teaching will be mainly conducted in German, therefore very good proficiency in German (at least level C1) is required.

In addition to the general labour requirements, the recruitment requirements include at least:

• A successfully completed university degree in the of (business-) psychology or a related degree programme with a specialist focus on the above-mentioned requirements.
• Pedagogical aptitude.
• A special aptitude for scientific work, which is usually demonstrated by a qualified doctorate.
• In addition, special achievements in the application or further development of scientific knowledge and methods in at least five years of relevant professional practice, of which at least three years must have been spent outside the university sector.

The appointment is made as a civil servant for life if the relevant legal requirements are met.
