About Edmund Siemers-Stiftung

The Edmund Siemers-Stiftung is a non-profit, operatively and supportively active foundation that feels committed to the common good. It stands in the tradition of the entrepreneur Edmund J.A. Siemers, who placed education, social commitment and responsibility in the community at the center of his work.

The foundation focuses on the promotion of education and training, especially with regard to European integration and the growing together of Germany. This is done through the support of training and further education, scholarships and the organization of seminars.

Another focus is on youth work, with the aim of integrating marginalized groups and minorities into the community. The foundation supports projects of municipal community and youth work for this purpose.

Nature and environmental protection is another important concern of the Edmund Siemers-Stiftung. It is committed to the protection of water bodies, wetlands and drinking water resources, especially in the area of the Elbe and its tributaries, including the floodplain landscapes. A long-term project is the ecological development of the Heidebäche Seeve, Este, Oste and Wümme.

The foundation operates the "Landschaftspark Schmokbachtal", which combines art and nature and promotes public awareness of the environment through guided tours, seminars and exhibitions.

The Edmund Siemers-Stiftung sees itself as future-oriented and is committed to a socially and ecologically responsible policy. It is committed to tackling current challenges, such as the establishment of a Corona Fund to support children's, youth and educational institutions. The foundation wants to be a role model for civic engagement and contribute to strengthening sustainability.
