The Belarusian Community
The Belarusian Community RAZAM e.V. is the largest nationwide representation for people from Belarus living in Germany. Founded on August 9, 2020, inspired by the democracy movement in Belarus, RAZAM – the Belarusian word for "together" – embodies the spirit of the peaceful protests that brought people together to stand for freedom and justice.
RAZAM is engaged in a variety of activities ranging from aid initiatives to offerings for the Belarusian diaspora to cultural events. A central part of the work is supporting political prisoners in Belarus as well as providing assistance to refugees from Belarus in Germany and Poland. In addition, RAZAM organizes numerous events to promote and preserve Belarusian culture and identity.
The main mission of RAZAM is to strengthen the Belarusian community in Germany and draw attention to the political and human rights situation in Belarus. The association advocates for democracy, human rights, and the promotion of Belarusian culture. Solidarity, community, and commitment are the core values that guide RAZAM.
RAZAM aims to make the situation in Belarus visible through continuous public relations work and cooperation with other organizations, providing sustainable support for those affected. The association relies on donations to finance its aid initiatives and projects and encourages regular contributions to ensure long-term support.
Since February 24, 2022, RAZAM has expanded its support to the victims of the war of aggression against Ukraine. The association stands firmly by the side of the Ukrainian people, aware that the security and freedom of Belarus and Ukraine are inextricably linked. This solidarity is reflected in the active assistance and numerous projects that RAZAM carries out in collaboration with international partners.
RAZAM collaborates with a variety of dedicated organizations to achieve its goals and maximize support for the Belarusian community. These partnerships are crucial to increasing the reach and impact of the initiatives and mobilizing broad support.
The Belarusian Community RAZAM e.V. remains a beacon of hope and commitment for the Belarusian diaspora in Germany and beyond, upholding the values of freedom, justice, and community.
