Here's what you can look forward to
As Chapter Lead, you are the disciplinary leader of the Chapter, focusing on coaching and development of your team members and the recruitment of new Chapter members
You define standards, guidelines and best practices for the Chapter in close alignment with your Chapter Lead peers and are responsible for the design and development of the Chapter identity
In coordination with the Tribe Lead, you staff the squads and work closely with Product Owners and Tribe Lead to define priorities and focus for the different roles
You act as a technical role model and coach for Chapter members, exemplify an innovative mindset and support engineers in architecture and implementation decisions
You actively contribute your expertise in Software Engineering to the Chapter and work hands-on in one of the squads in your remaining time (up to ~50 %), including design and implementation of frontend and backend components
You continuously improve engineering practices, tools and quality standards across the Chapter, including the adoption of AI-assisted development
You actively contribute to a collaborative, learning-oriented engineering culture
What we require of you
You have successfully completed your studies in (Business) Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or you possess a comparable qualification
You have at least 5 years of experience in Software Engineering, ideally in complex enterprise environments
You have solid experience in backend development with Java and modern JVM frameworks such as Spring Boot, including microservices architectures, distributed systems and the design of RESTful APIs and in frontend development with TypeScript and Angular and are familiar with micro-frontend architectures, ideally based on Module Federation
You have worked with containerized, cloud-native applications and are experienced in running them on Kubernetes, preferably on Microsoft Azure
Knowledge and hands-on experience in test automation and with agentic coding tools like Claude Code or Codex and spec-driven frameworks like BMAD or Spec Kit; you can build your own agents and skills
Proven leadership experience or a strong motivation to grow into a leadership role; your leadership style is coach-oriented
Team player with a strong willingness to learn, openness to new topics and an agile mindset
You are fluent in German and English
